What do you think are some pros and cons of starting a business? Here are some reasons I started my business (pros for me).
I. I could use my ideas and skills better than I was able to do so at my own job
II. I could be my own boss
III. I enjoy a talent
IV. Possibility of success
Some potential cons I saw were that:
I. Being your own boss is great but it also puts ulitimate responsibility on your shoulders. Sometimes this is difficult.
II. Many new businesses do fail even when ideas are good and people work hard.
III. Financially businesses and business owners can struggle for a long time

I think the level of risk and responsibility is substantially higher with your own business, but so our the potential rewards. You do not really have any way to mitigate the risk of a disaster or a large mistake. You work for someone else and ultimately it is someone else's headache.
As a hired gun you can really walk away from your situation at any time. With your own business even if you can set your own schedule you may find it more difficult to find free time for you and your family as there is always something that needs to be addressed.

| I agree that the risk is all on you if you own a business, but I think the rewards probably outweigh the risks. Although alot of new businesses do have problems, there is usually some way to overcome those problems.

Risk is always a part of of life, in decision making and other stuff specially in starting a business. Facing the risk and being able to conquer will show you that your good in decision making. And if ever you fail that should be a lesson to and use it as an advantage so that you won't commit the same mistake again. ('',)
