Here are some offline marketing methods. What other ideas do you guys have?
I. Being active in your community. You can get out the word about your business, establish yourself as an "expert" in your area and just get to know more people. You can join business groups and other clubs.
II. Business Cards. Always have them on hand. You never know when you may find it appropriate to pass out a card or two. And then there are times when people will ask if you happen to have one of your business cards for them to have. There are also places where you can post your business cards. This is a good way to advertise in public places without a great expense.
III. Flyers. Passing out or posting flyers as per rules and regulations of your community.
IV. Word Of Mouth
V. Newspaper advertisements
VI. Yellow Pages
VII. T-shirts and other items with your business logo and some information

You can also post your flyers or business cards on local grocery store bulletin boards.
Leave business cards in doctors offices, whenever you pay a bill enclose a card as well.
Offline advertising opportunities are endless

| These are all great ideas. Putting flyers on boards, and handing out your business cards have always worked well for me. I give a business card to everyone I encounter, even cashiers at grocery stores and the convenience stores.

I always carry business cards and I'm always ready to give my "elevator" speech. But I'm not too fond of flyers. The reason being that I am targeting Small and mid-sized businesses, not home customers and I feel that flyers are detrimental to the business image that I am trying to build.
I am planning a series of small business seminars to be held at local libraries covering facets of technology and security that they should be aware of. My goal is to get my name out there as an expert in my field and also have a captive audience where my marketing message will be in front of them for 30-45 minutes straight.
It all really depends on what market you are going for.

Have pens printed with your information, and donate them to local offices, schools or any type of organization that may have your target market, plus you use the cost as a tax deduction! One for cost of advertising, one for the donation.

Shave your logo into your hair. I forgot what web hosting company did that, but the same company also paid someone to tatoo an ad on their body.
How about temporary stickers on the sidewalk in front of your business? That is if your locality would allow it.
What I'm trying to say is look for a unique marketing angle. Try something really off the wall and it may get you more media coverage than the best press release ever will.

Tattoo your company on your body???? What the heck happens if you go out of business, do have it altered llike when I guy meets a new girl and wants to get rid of the tat for the old one? OMG, that is quite a permanent marketing tactic for a temporary possible venture!
Shaving the head is a bit less risky!
