Anyone have any suggestions or tips on acquiring links? I do look for sites in my area and try to get links and/or exchange links. Just curious if anyone else has any other advice in order to drive more traffic to my sites.

Try asking at forums theres usually heaps of people willing to swap or even give you free links on there site for nothing in return.

Yeah, there are tons of great forums where you can find people to exchange links with. If you go to http://www.sitepoint.com and go to there trade your services board you can often find people looking for exchanges. Also, if you have are running a forum you can go to http://www.theadminzone.com and they have a board where you can exchange links with other forums.

One of the ways I have gotten links is by visiting forums. I haVe found that there are often people willing to offer you a link on their website in exchange for services that you can do for them. I have located some quality links, related to my site, done a small job for someone and had a free link on a high PR site.

Yeah, thats a good idea. Maybe once I learn how to code it willbe of some use. Im sure there are tons of high pr forums that would give links for custom hacks and things of that nature.

I do a lot of searching through my markets for similar sites and then I often just request links. Some of them will have link pages and such that you can submit to, others will require an e-mail. As long as you have a relevant and quality site people usually do not have a trouble linking.

What I usually do is submit links to directory, look for link partners with linkmetro.com, add and join forum and put my site url as your signature.
